When a lousy team meets a great market, market wins.

When a great team meets a great market, something special happens.

I recently read an article by Marc Andreessen where he argues that there are three factors that drive startup success: team, product, and market. He argues that each is important, but if you had to pick one, the market wins over the rest. I couldn’t agree more, as I’ve always seen the market as the 'math' behind the business. A market dictates how fast your product moves and how big your business will ultimately be. If it’s ignored, no matter how strong your team, or how sexy your product, your company will go nowhere. Advanced AI, crypto-enabled payments, advanced robotic solutions, and other cool new developments sound nice, but the ultimate judge is the market. This reminds me of the following summary by Peter Lynch:
